Following last year's announcement that the Kaniva Cultural and Tourism precinct (KCTP) will receive $600,000 through the National Stronger Regions Fund, final planning has progressed.
Jeavons Architectural Services (JAS) are engaged to undertake the next stage of the project, which is consultation, final design development and documentation for the project. JAS were the architects of the high level masterplan completed two years ago, which was used to apply for funding.
Consultation with students from the Kaniva College took place at the start of June (image below). The students were asked use their imagination to create a natural environment that would be inviting for people and wildlife. They used play doh, moss, rocks etc. to build their ideas. JAS will use these impressions to inform their final design work.
Council invites the community to comment on the draft concept plan. The plans will be available to view from Friday 23 June 2017 and the following information sessions will be held, to share your thoughts.
