$1 Million Investment into Female Friendly Facilities at Harrow and District Recreation Reserve
On 17 April 2018, the Hon Jaala Pulford,MP announced access to $1 million of State Government funding via the Female Friendly program of Sport and Rec Victoria, to upgrade facilities at the Harrow & District Recreation Reserve. The funding will be made accessible for Female Friendly Facilities to support Netball and Tennis participation and programming, and Upgraded Unisex Football Facilities.
The Harrow & District Recreation Reserve Committee has worked hard over 10 years advocating for funds to upgrade the facilities at the Harrow Rec Reserve to ensure they remain relevant and useful for future generations.
Council and agency representatives met with the community in Harrow on Wednesday 6 June to discuss the project and will be working closely with the community throughout the project. To enable this exciting investment in Harrow to progress, Council is required to lodge an application which will include detailed designs and cost estimates by early August.
We are grateful to the State Government for the funds to support this exciting project. Improving the facilities at Harrow will allow sport to continue for many years to come, West Wimmera Shire Mayor, Jodie Pretlove said.
