Mr Mark Marziale has been appointed as the new Director of Infrastructure Development & Works at West Wimmera Shire Council.
"We are delighted to welcome Mark Marziale to the Shire to take up this key role within the organisation" said CEO David Leahy.
"Mark is a well credentialed professional, and we are very fortunate to have secured such a high calibre individual" said Mr Leahy.
Mr Marziale has undergraduate degrees in architectural studies and planning, and a graduate diploma in regional and urban planning. Since then he has also successfully completed training in governance, finance for directors, project management, effective communication and negotiation, economics of development, contract management, financial sustainability and asset management, and the carbon economy.
"Mark comes to us from Southern Grampians Shire Council where he held the position of Manager Planning and Environment" said Mr Leahy. "Prior to that he was located at Cook Shire Council on Cape York Peninsula in the role of Director Planning & Environment, as well as Acting Chief Executive Officer".
Mr Marziale's professional memberships include Local Government Managers Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Planning Institute of Australia.
"Mark commences his role with West Wimmera on 13 June 2018, and will be based in the Edenhope Office" said Mr Leahy. "We are really looking forward to welcoming him to the region".
