Corella Management Control Activities

The program aims to protect assets such as sporting grounds from corella activity.

Residents and householders may hear three to four loud bursts of fire from gas guns strategically placed around the Kaniva Recreation Reserve and surrounding areas.

The shots fired from the gas guns will usually occur in the morning between 7.00am to 8.00am and between 8.00pm to 9.00pm.

It is recommended that residents and householders secure or confine any animals that may be affected by the noise level of these gas guns during these periods of time.

This form of wildlife management control is an integral part of council's program to discourage corellas from frequenting the area and causing destruction of assets, and council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause in the short term.

If you would like any further information, please contact Council’s Local Laws Officer on 03 5585 9900.
