West Wimmera Shire Council 2020 Election ballot packs will be mailed to enrolled voters from Tuesday 6 October 2020.

Ballot packs will be mailed out by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) and will contain: a ballot paper attached to statements and photographs lodged by the candidates for West Wimmera Shire Council, a ballot paper envelope with a flap, voting instructions and a reply-paid envelope.

West Wimmera Shire CEO David Leahy wants to remind voters that this is a postal election only, and that all who are registered to vote must do so. “Voting is compulsory and voters will have until Friday 23 October 2020 to have their completed ballot pack in the mail” Mr Leahy said.

If your mailing address has changed since close of rolls (28 August 2020), or you will be away during the time ballot packs are mailed (6 October to 8 October 2020), you can lodge a request with the VEC to receive your ballot pack at another address.

Details on how to request a replacement ballot pack will be available on the VEC website from 6 October 2020.

“West Wimmera Shire has five vacancies in this year’s election, so it is important that voters ensure ballot papers are correctly completed and returned on time to make sure their vote counts” Mr Leahy said.
