West Wimmera Shire Council is applying for funding to support the development of schematic designs for the future renewal of the Goroke Swimming Centre.
The pool, which is more than 40 years old, is an important community asset but faces challenges due to ageing infrastructure and limited accessibility. Core elements such as the plant room and amenities are nearing the end of their lifespan, and the facility no longer meets modern standards for access, safety, or functionality.
Developing these designs is a critical step in ensuring the pool remains a safe, inclusive and sustainable space for the Goroke community well into the future.
If funding is secured, the $50,000 project will deliver plans for:
Detailed schematic designs for a full facility renewal
A new amenities building
A new pool plant room
A ramp entry and wet deck to improve accessibility
Updated changerooms to meet current privacy and access standards
These design plans will ensure the project is ready for future construction funding opportunities.
State Government’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund $40,000
Council $10,000
