West Wimmera Shire Council has secured additional funding to extend the Meal on Wheels program due to the COVID -19 Pandemic.

On the 24th of May the Victorian Premier Mr. Daniel Andrews announced an easing of the restrictions. We would like to continue to encourage vulnerable people, those with chronic health conditions and older Victorians to remain vigilant and stay at home to reduce your risk of contracting COVID- 19.

To support you West Wimmera Shire Council is reducing the cost of Meals on Wheels to $5:00 per meal. This saving will be backdated to the beginning of May 2020 until further notice.

West Wimmera Shire Council prides itself by providing eligible residents with a variety of meals options, offering Meals Vouchers as well as a delivered hot midday meal consisting of soup, a main meal, desert and fruit drink. We can also offer you frozen meal options for those living out of town and to help with evening and weekend meals.

West Wimmera Shire Council also offer unaccompanied shopping assistance to help you to get your groceries and run errands.

If you are feeling lonely and isolated we can offer a regular Veranda Post visit to have a chat and see how you are going.

If you would like to know more about any of our services or  increase the amount of meals you are receiving please contact our Community Services Team on 03 5585 9900
