Projects seeking funding

Every year Council adopts a list of priority projects it plans to seek funding and support from the State and/or Federal Government.

Council has a strong track record in lobbying for its priority projects and nominates projects that can deliver strong strategic outcomes for the region.

Kaniva Splash Park

This project at the Kaniva Memorial Swimming Pool will involve the creation of a water play space, as a redevelopment of the existing toddler pool. The proposed all-abilities water play space will feature a small toddler pool area, alongside various water play features. 

Project cost: $1million

 

Edenhope Lions Park redevelopment

This project at Edenhope Lions Park will include new play equipment for all abilities and ages, new amenities and spaces to people to have family gatherings 

Project cost: $1 million

 

Kaniva pool upgrade

The planned upgrades include the installation of a Changing Places facility, along with improvements to changerooms, pathways, and amenities.

These enhancements will cater to a broader range of abilities, making the pool a key community asset that is accessible to everyone.

Project cost: $900,000

Kaniva Dog Park

Creating a safe and suitable location in Kaniva for dogs to be able to run off lead in an enclosed space. Water, and shade to be provided. Provides a location for both residents with dogs and travelers with dogs.

The park will include:

  • Appropriate fencing with a safety airlock entry/exit
  • water connection to a drink fountain that caters for both dogs and their owners,
  • park bench seating,
  • bin and dog bag dispenser and signage. 

Project cost: $27,025

 

Goroke Kindergarten Playspace

Stage 2 of the Goroke Kindergarten Playground accessibility upgrades will complement the works completed in stage 1 in 2020.

This project brings together the whole of the playground into one cohesive space, providing one level, fully-accessible playspace, through the removal of the raised bordered soft fall area, fencing and replacement of the play equipment.

A rubber soft fall area with new play equipment, including a basket swing, combination unit and trampoline will provide opportunities for all children to access and participate in all outdoor play activities. The new play equipment will provide opportunities for the elements of balance, coordination and sensory to be available during program design.
