West Wimmera Shire Council is seeking an experienced and proactive Contracts and Procurement Manager to lead our procurement and contract management functions across the organisation.
This is a key leadership role that provides strategic advice and expert guidance to managers, ensuring procurement activities and contract management practices are compliant, efficient and deliver value for money. You will lead Council-wide procurement frameworks, policies and best practice tools that support informed decision-making and strong governance. Working collaboratively with managers across the organisation, you will provide practical advice, training and support throughout the procurement and contract lifecycle, while fostering a culture of accountability, compliance and commercial awareness.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Business, Law, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and contracts management, ideally within local government or the public sector.
- The ability to provide strategic procurement advice and lead complex procurement and tender processes.
- Sound knowledge of governance, risk management and legislative compliance.
- A collaborative and solution-focused approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering value-for-money outcomes.
- Experience managing fleet operations or corporate assets will be highly regarded.
