About the project

West Wimmera Shire Council will apply for funding to deliver a major upgrade to the Serviceton Bowling Club, bringing the facility up to modern standards and improving accessibility and safety.

Key components of the project include:

  • Installation of a new seven-rink synthetic bowling green to replace the existing natural turf green, reducing maintenance requirements for volunteers
  • Renovated accessible toilets
  • Accessible carpark
  • Improved pathways throughout the site

These upgrades will create a safer, more inclusive and reliable space for community members to enjoy lawn bowls and other social activities.

Why this project is important

The current Serviceton Bowling Club facilities are outdated and present accessibility and safety challenges. Upgrading the site will:

  • Reduce maintenance pressures for volunteers
  • Improve accessibility for people of all ages and abilities
  • Enhance safety for participants and visitors
  • Support the long-term sustainability of the club and recreation opportunities in Serviceton
