Graduate Assets & Design Engineer

West Wimmera Shire Council is seeking a motivated Graduate Assets & Design Engineer to join our infrastructure engineering team. This graduate opportunity offers hands-on experience across asset management, civil design, surveying and GIS while developing your skills across a diverse range of engineering activities.  

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Engineering, you’ll contribute to the planning, design and delivery of Council’s infrastructure projects. From engineering surveys and civil design to asset management and project administration, you’ll gain broad, practical experience while contributing to services and infrastructure that benefit the community.  

About you:  

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or be nearing completion of your degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Well-developed computer skills and a willingness to learn Council’s asset management, CAD and GIS systems.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while managing a variety of tasks.
  • A current driver’s licence 

Experience with surveying equipment, CAD software (such as BricsCad, AutoCAD or Civil Site Design), GIS applications or asset management systems will be well regarded but not essential.
