CSG open

West Wimmera Shire community groups and organisations can apply for up to $10,000 through Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program.

Round one of the 2024 grant program opened on Monday, April 1, and closes on April 26.

Community groups and organisations can apply for funding for programs, activities, and services.

All funded activities or programs must respond to identified community needs and contribute to the building a stronger community.

There are four categories of funding. Categories include community projects (maximum $5000 on a $2 for $1 basis); community events (maximum of $1200); and facility upgrades and equipment purchases (maximum $5000 on a $2 for $1 basis).

There is also a major community project category, which has a maximum grant amount of $10,000 on a $1 to $1 basis.

Council Chief Executive Officer David Bezuidenhout said the grant program was a fantastic opportunity for community groups to access much-needed funding.

“We know that community groups play a vital role in creating vibrant and connected communities, and we're pleased to be able to support their efforts through this grant program,” he said.

"Whether it's funding for a new community project, upgrading facilities, or hosting an event, we hope that these grants will help our local community groups to achieve their goals and make a positive impact in the West Wimmera Shire.

“We encourage all eligible community groups to apply for these grants and take advantage of this opportunity to secure funding for their projects and initiatives."
