Community Strengthening Grants to open
Published on 24 July 2026
West Wimmera Shire community groups and organisations can apply for up to $5000 through the latest round of Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program.
Round one of the 2026-27 grant program opens on Monday, 10 August, and closes on Friday, 11 September.
Funding is available for projects, activities and services that address community needs and help strengthen local communities.
The program offers two funding categories: community projects, and facility upgrades and equipment purchases.
Both categories provide grants of up to $5000 on a $2 for $1 basis.
Council Chief Executive Officer David Bezuidenhout said the grants provided valuable support to local organisations.
“Community groups are at the heart of our towns and play an important role in bringing people together,” he said.
“These grants provide an opportunity for organisations to turn ideas into action and deliver projects that benefit their communities.
“We encourage eligible groups to apply and take advantage of this funding opportunity.”
Applications can be submitted online through Council’s website at www.westwimmera.vic.gov.au/Council/Grants-and-Funding/Community-Strengthening-Grants
Applicants are encouraged to read the grant guidelines before applying.
