West Wimmera Shire Council is partnering with regional stakeholders to explore potential early childhood infrastructure funding opportunities for Goroke.

Emerge Early Years Service and By Five Wimmera Southern Mallee are exploring funding opportunities through the Australian Government’s Building Early Education Fund to investigate potential childcare infrastructure in the region.

This work is currently focusing on six towns across the Wimmera that have existing schools and kindergarten services but do not currently have access to childcare.

As part of Council’s annual planning process, Council is working alongside these organisations to support early discussions around potential childcare infrastructure in Goroke.

The discussions to date are focused solely on potential infrastructure investment that could support the delivery of childcare or kindergarten services in the future.

These discussions are still in the early stages and are expected to continue over the coming months.

Keeping the Goroke community informed is important to us, and Council will keep residents updated as discussions progress.

Anyone seeking further information is encouraged to contact West Wimmera Shire Council Director of Corporate and Community Services Dalton Burns on 13 99 72.
