From the Environment Protection Authority Victoria:

We are continuing to monitor the illegal waste dump site, south of Kaniva. We are testing the groundwater onsite and offsite on a regular basis.

Recent groundwater testing shows no sign of contamination. This result remains consistent with previous results.

Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water Corporation (GWMWater) tests the bores which supply the township of Kaniva every fortnight. The results continue to show no change in water quality or signs of contamination. Their website has a fact sheet on Kaniva’s groundwater supply

We have been onsite this month:

  • conducting drone flights
  • scoping further site stabilisation works, including a prepared area.
