Kaniva Poolside Caravan Park visitors are now enjoying brand new amenities and grounds, thanks to a $593,000 upgrade.

The park has undergone a significant transformation with the construction of a brand-new amenities block, replacing the outdated facility.

This upgraded block includes male and female toilets, accessible toilets and showers, laundry facilities, a baby-changing station, and a contemporary camp kitchen.

These modern amenities ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for guests.

The final stages of the upgrade, which included landscaping, new lawn areas, fencing, and new seating and benches, have now been successfully completed, further enhancing the park's facilities.

The parks power and water supply were also relocated, creating an additional two camping sites.

Council Chief Executive Officer David Bezuidenhout said Council was committed to providing top-notch facilities that meet the expectations of today's travellers.

"The completion of the new amenities block marks a significant milestone for Kaniva Poolside Caravan Park, showcasing our dedication to enhancing the visitor experience and promoting the region as a prime tourist destination," he said.

“The upgraded amenities block sets a new standard for our caravan parks, providing visitors with a modern and comfortable environment.”

The new camp kitchen comprises an accessible barbecue, four hot plates, sink, power access, and an accessible table.

Funding for the project was made possible by a $574,000-grant from Regional Development Victoria. Council contributed $19,000 towards the development.

The Kaniva caravan park is set to undergo a further upgrade shortly with the installation of two new cabins.

A three-bedroom cabin, and a two-bedroom disability accessible cabin, are currently being built off-site and are scheduled to be installed later this year.
