Major redevelopment for Edenhope Lions Park

West Wimmera Shire Council will apply for funding to redevelop The Edenhope Lions Park as per the Edenhope Playspace Strategy.
Council will apply for $500,000 from the Federal Government’s Growing Region’s Fund for the project.
The $1 million project will include new play equipment for all abilities and ages, extended skate park, amenities, and spaces for people to hold family gatherings.
The park will provide a destination for travellers to stop and recharge as they travel through Edenhope.
Council will contribute up to $500,000 for the project.
Mayor Tim Meyer said the redevelopment would create a significant boost for Edenhope.
“Last year we did extensive community consultation about all the playgrounds in Edenhope,” he said.
“We know that the Edenhope Lions Park is the most used and most valued playspace in the town, but we all know that is currently looking old and tired.
“Community feedback told us that there was a lack of toilets at our playgrounds, the equipment was dated, and there was not enough play equipment for younger children.
“We want to create a space that will meet the current and future needs of the community.”
Cr Meyer said the redeveloped playground will be a drawcard for Edenhope.
The project aligns with the Council's commitment to fostering community well-being and creating a destination that promotes healthy, active lifestyles.
If the funding application is successful, Council hopes to have the project completed and fully operational by December 2025.
