Construction of a new community facility at the Goroke Recreation Reserve is nearing completion.

Works on the new pavilion and changeroom started last year and is on track for an official opening in October.

The project includes four new home and away player changerooms for netball/tennis and football, umpire change rooms, a gym, public toilets, social room, and a kitchen.

Over the next few weeks, landscaping works will be completed around the outside of the building and temporary fencing at the site will be removed.

Council would like to remind the community that there are still works going on and the project is due for completion at the end of September.

Council Chief Executive Officer David Bezuidenhout said it was great to see this important community building coming together.

“We will keep the community updated on the process during these final stages,” he said.

“Information regarding an official opening will be communicated once a date it set.”

This project was made possible thanks to $1.755 million from Sport and Recreation Victoria, as well as $145,000 from the Goroke community.
