The Victorian Electoral Commission has officially declared the results of the 2020 West Wimmera Shire Council election.

Six candidates had nominated for five seats in this year’s election.

The successful candidates are Jodie Pretlove, Bruce Meyer, Trevor Domaschenz, Tom Houlihan and Tim Meyer.

Tim Meyer will join West Wimmera Shire Council for the first time, while the other successful candidates are returning councillors.

The new council will meet on Friday to elect a mayor. The meeting will be at 10am in Kaniva and members of the public can watch a livestream of the meeting via Council’s website.

West Wimmera Shire Council chief executive David Leahy said he looked forward to welcoming the new councillors.

“Residents have made their decision about who they want to represent them for the next four years,” he said.

“We wish the new council all the best for the term ahead.”
