Youth Action team members wanted

West Wimmera Shire Council is calling for young people to join Youth Action Teams in Kaniva, Edenhope and Goroke in 2022.
The target age group is 12 to 25 years, however younger members are also encouraged to apply if they have ideas and a willingness to contribute to the team.
Youth Officer Leah Davies has run a number of information sessions in Kaniva, Edenhope and Goroke over the past three weeks.
“There are a number of young people who have committed to be involved in projects throughout the year,” she said.
“However, there is still the opportunity to become involved and many ideas and suggestions have been made about events, projects and activities that could be ran throughout the year, including a youth-run Easter Egg hunt at the Kaniva Wetlands and Fauna Park during the Easter break.
“Although it would be great to have young people involved in the Youth Action Team right throughout the year, we understand that various competing commitments may prevent involvement at various times throughout the year.”
Young people are encouraged to be involved in one off projects and activities that interest them, allowing them the flexibility to participate in sport, school and family activities that may take up their time.
FReeZA groups within schools will also be an integral part of forming the agenda over the next three years.
“If you or someone you know are interested in joining in, or finding out more, it would be great to include you in our exciting and dynamic team, to conduct youth run events that are exciting and relevant,” Ms Davies said.
