West Wimmera Shire Council intends to spray an insecticide on the turf area at the Kaniva Wetland and Fauna Park to reduce the population of the Blackheaded Pasture Cockchafer, recognised as a pasture pest by Agriculture Victoria.
Spraying of the turf area will occur on Thursday 28 January 2021 and only if the weather conditions are deemed favourable.
The insecticide council will be using is Acelepryn; the safety data sheet is available here.
The park will be closed to the public for the entire day.
