Request to close and discontinue Portland Lane in Apsley

Council received communication from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning requesting the closure of Portland Lane in Apsley.

Portland Lane is currently unused and classified as secondary access road (Category 6A) used to access farm gates.

The intention of the Department is to close this area of unused road and sell Crown Allotment 2012, Parish of Boikerbert, to the sole adjoining landowner.

Council adopted the recommendation to close Portland Lane (in-principle) at the Ordinary Council meeting held on 17 August 2022 but invites comments or objections from any interested parties.

All comments or objections should be made in writing and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer at council@westwimmera.vic.gov.au or 49 Elizabeth Street, Edenhope 3318, and must be received by Friday 23 September 2022.
