Defensive Driving in Harrow

Location: Harrow Bush Nursing Centre

Description: Join in at Harrow for the 12th annual Defensive Driving program hosted by the Australian Driving Institute (ADI), in partnership with the Harrow Bush Nursing Centre and Harrow Neighbourhood House. This event offers a range of driving courses designed to enhance the skills and confidence of drivers of all ages and experience levels.

Courses Offered:

  1. AUSTDRIVE 1:

    • Who: 16-21 year olds with a learner, probationary, or full licence.
    • Details: Participants must bring a vehicle; L-plate drivers need an accompanying fully-licensed driver. Offered at a subsidised rate.
    • Focus: Confidence, awareness, and skill-building.
  2. AUSTDRIVE 2 Youth Driver Awareness Program:

    • Who: 18-25 year olds with a probationary or full licence.
    • Details: In-vehicle training with one instructor for 1-3 young drivers.
    • Focus: Defensive and preventative driving skills.
  3. Road Safety Program:

    • Who: Professional and corporate individuals and organisations.
    • Details: In-vehicle training with one instructor for up to 3 participants.
    • Focus: Developing defensive and preventative driving skills.

Training Highlights:

  • Fully accredited courses.
  • Combination of practical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Real-world driving conditions on public roads (gravel and bitumen).
  • Certificate of completion from the ADI.

Funding: The event is supported by State Government Engage! funding through West Wimmera Shire Council, significantly subsidising the cost of the AUSTDRIVE 1 program.
