Explore Jane Austen’s world of fashion, etiquette and social life in this two-hour workshop with Edenhope Artist in Residence Carol Close. Inspired by Hilary Davidson’s book Jane Austen’s Wardrobe and Austen’s letters to her sister Cassandra, the workshop will explore the influence of the Industrial Revolution, wartime taxes, fashion and Regency etiquette on Austen’s characters, plots and writing.
Participants will also have the opportunity to make their own authentic Regency-style dance card to take home. Austen-themed books and DVDs will be available for loan, with tea and coffee provided. Places are limited.
