West Wimmera Shire Council has developed schematic designs for the future renewal of the Goroke Swimming Centre.

The pool is more than 40 years old and remains an important community asset. However, ageing infrastructure and limited accessibility are creating challenges for its long-term use. Key elements such as the plant room and amenities are nearing the end of their lifespan, and the facility no longer meets modern standards for access, safety or functionality.

This project delivers concept designs that support a safe, inclusive and sustainable future for the pool, ensuring it continues to serve the Goroke community for years to come.

What's being planned

The $50,000 project will deliver detailed schematic designs for a full facility renewal.

The plans include a new amenities building and plant room, improved accessibility through a ramp entry and wet deck, and upgraded changerooms that meet current privacy and access standards.

These designs have been developed to ensure the project is well planned and ready to take advantage of future construction funding opportunities. Community feedback will play an important role in refining the plans and ensuring they reflect local needs.
