Waste services are changing across Victoria, and West Wimmera Shire Council is reviewing its waste and recycling services to understand what is working well and what could be improved.
Changes to State Government requirements, evolving recycling practices and increasing waste management costs are affecting how councils deliver waste services.
Council wants to make sure future services continue to meet the needs of our community while remaining practical, sustainable and financially responsible.
What are we asking?
Council is seeking feedback from residents and businesses about a range of current and future waste and recycling services.
The survey asks about:
- kerbside waste collection
- glass recycling
- the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme
- future food and garden organics (FOGO) collection
- transfer stations
- free green waste disposal
- general waste collection
- opportunities to improve recycling and product stewardship in the region.
The survey also asks about how often people use different services, what they value about current waste services and what improvements they would like to see.
Why is Council asking for feedback?
Community feedback will help Council understand local priorities and experiences with waste and recycling services.
The information gathered through the survey will help inform future planning and decision making as Council reviews its waste services.
Your feedback is important, whether you regularly use Council's waste services or have suggestions about how they could work better.
