Council reaffirms commitment to early years services

West Wimmera Shire Council has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to operate kindergarten and childcare services across the shire, while exploring opportunities to strengthen long-term sustainability through partnerships.
At a meeting on Wednesday, Council received an update on the current delivery of early years services and the increasingly complex operating environment.

Early childhood services recognised for excellence in sun protection

Three West Wimmera Shire Council early childhood services have been recognised by the Victorian Government for excellence in sun protection through a statewide health initiative.
Kaniva Kindergarten, Goroke Preschool and Edenhope Early Childhood Service have been formally recognised through the State Government’s Healthy Early Childhood Services Achievement Program.

Council backs Tiny Towns funding applications for local projects

West Wimmera Shire Council has endorsed three applications for Victorian Government’s Tiny Towns Fund, supporting community infrastructure projects in Edenhope, Kaniva and Apsley.
The Tiny Towns Fund is designed to support projects in communities with populations under 5,000, helping strengthen local economies, enhance community facilities and build pride in small towns.
